Naviance for Students - KGHS is pleased to offer Naviance Family Connection, a web-based service designed to help parents and students make decisions about colleges and careers.  Students can take personality surveys, research colleges and careers, set goals, build a resume, and more.  This service is a valuable tool to seniors applying to colleges.  They can track college applications, request teacher recommendations, and monitor transcripts sent.

State Council of Higher Education for Virginia
This page was established to provide an annual notice to enrolled high school students and their parents of the availability of the postsecondary education and employment data published by the State Council of Higher Education on its website pursuant to § 23-9.2:3.04.

Students and their families are encouraged to use a variety of information sources to select a college and major. The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) provides one such source that is available 

1-2-3 Go! initiative is a series of informational and hands-on events providing resources to help Virginia students and families through the college application process.  The initiative includes assistance in: (1) finding the best fit; (2) meeting application deadlines; and (3) determining financing – in order to GO to college.

Steamfitters Local 602 JATC Apprenticeship  Interested in an exciting career in pipefitting, welding, heating, air conditioning and refrigeration (construction, service and maintenance)? Applications must be made in person at either of these two locations: US Mechanical Trades School, 8509 Ardwick Ardmore Road, Landover, MD 20785, 301-341-1555. UAM Steamfitters Local Union 602, 7552 Accotink Park Road, Springfield, VA 22150, 703-569-0602. Requirements:  Applicants must be 18 years old, by August 15, 2020 (born before August 15, 2002). High school diploma earned by June 30, 2020 or GED certificate by December 31, 2019.   There is a $50 non-refundable application processing fee due at time of application. Payable in cash or money order only. (All money orders to be made payable to HPRTF).  Information sheet available for download below.
