Title: Lifeguard (Seasonal)

We are seeking individuals to work full-time or part-time (20-40 hours per week) at various community pools and swim clubs in the local area. Outdoor pool positions run from Memorial Day weekend until Labor Day, Summer 2018. We also have indoor pool positions year-round.

 Reports to: Pool Manager & Area Supervisor

 Location: Hopyard Farm Pool, King George, Virginia

Job DescriptionThe role of a lifeguard is to maintain the safety, cleanliness, and uphold the rules of each swimming pool facility for the 2018 summer pool season. In order to do this, lifeguards must scan for dangers in or around the pool, clean the facilities hourly, and ensure that the patrons are following the rules. Lifeguards must know protocol surrounding emergencies and various other dangerous situations like electrical storms.

 We are looking for driven individuals with a desire to provide optimum customer service for our clients.

 Certifications & Skills Needed:

·         Current and valid American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification

·         Ability to speak English fluently

·         Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs.

·         Desire to learn a diverse array of tasks needed to run a commercial swimming pool

 Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensure safety of patrons and pool premise.
  • Maintain a clean environment in and around the pool.
  • Enforce pool rules in accordance with property and company policies.
  • Administering first aid and CPR, AED, or spinal management in emergency situations.
  • Provide assistance to patrons when necessary.

All 14-15 year old workers in Virginia are required to obtain an Employment Certificate (Work Permit). Upon completion of all 3 sections, generally the system will issue permits within 24 hours of your request. PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT ONLY THE EMPLOYER IS AUTHORIZED TO SUBMIT THE EMPLOYER PORTION OF THE APPLICATION AS THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ADHERING TO THE RECORD RETENTION REQUIREMENTS.

Apprenticeship Opportunities for Seniors

The F.B.I. has immediate openings in Carpentry. There are also apprenticeships available in HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing.  This will be a direct hire.  Senior(s) will need to submit a resume, transcript and any other information pertaining to job.  A background check and polygraph test are required.
