19th Annual Minority Law & Research Institute

The institute is designed to expose under-represented students to consider careers in law, research and the legal profession. The program is designed to raise student awareness to careers in law and encouraging them to set high expectations for academic achievement. 

The institute will implement its goals and strategies by providing students with the knowledge of those skills that are needed to prepare them for opportunities for careers in law. The program will provide students the opportunity to participate in legal research, visit courtrooms, mock trials and classroom discussion. The instruction disseminated in the curriculum will be enhanced by career professionals.

All students must pre-qualify to be eligible (time, date and place to be announced) for students.  There is a $60 non-refundable registration fee payable to Aunt Berta's Love 1 Education Foundation. Minimum GPA 2.7 +

Cost: Tuition, room and board will be paid by Aunt Berta's Kids Education Foundation for all selected participants. Students are required to pay for their own transportation to and from Southern University in Baton Rouge and will be responsible for personal expenses.

Dates: June 16 - June 28, 2019
