Hanover Regional Governor's School for CTE - Summer Program

Hanover Regional Governor’s School for Career and Technical Advancement (HRGS-CTA) Summer program will be held July 5 - July 18, 2020 on the campus of Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, VA. The cost for student participation will still be $350 per student. 

The HRGS-CTA is a regional two-week summer residential program for gifted CTE students who have demonstrated accomplishment, aptitude, and interest in CTE curricula and careers.  The HRGS-CTA will focus on workplace readiness and entrepreneurial skill development. Students skills will be cultivated and honed through: 
  • Group problem solving activities
  • Guest speakers from business and academic communities
  • Field trips to regional businesses
  • Mentorship experiences that highlight workplace readiness skills
  • Fun, recreational, and team building activities
Rising juniors (current 10th graders) who are enrolled in at least one CTE course with a grade of 'B' or better and who expect to continue in the CTE program during their final two years of high school; or rising seniors (current 11th graders) who have completed at least one credit in a CTE course with a grade of "B" or better and who expect to continue in the CTE program during their final year of high school.

Deadline for the student applications/packets to be returned to Hanover County Public Schools is March 11, 2020.
