Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.'s Carrie "WY" Hill Tatum Memorial Scholarship - Deadline: March 16, 2018
The Delta Sigma Theta Society annually awards scholarships to deserving high school seniors attending schools in their service area, of which King George is included. Write essay "Explain how today's economy is affecting your pursuit of a college education." An in-person interview is mandatory.  Application available below and in the Counseling office. 

**New**Katie Higgins Memorial Scholarship (Virginia Smiles) - Deadline: March 16, 2018
The Katie Higgins Memorial Scholarship is awarded to Virginia students who have had one of the following diagnosis: complete or incomplete, bilateral or unilateral, cleft lip or cleft palate who have engaged in rigorous academic coursework and volunteered in their community. 500 word essay required. Application available in the Counseling office and the link below.

Rita Berkey P.E.O. Memorial Scholarship - Deadline: March 16, 2018
 Graduating female seniors and home school seniors from Stafford, Spotsylvania, King George, or Fredericksburg City schools are eligible. Applicant must be entering a full-time course of study in a service-oriented profession. Must be accepted by an accredited college, university or career and tech school for the year of the scholarship award. Selection will be based on: community service, financial need, academic record, extra-curricular activities, and character. Award amount $500.00. Application available below and in the Counseling office.

The Society of Cincinnati in the State of Virginia History Essay Contest for College Scholarship - Deadline: March 16, 2018
The Society of the Cincinnati in the State of Virginia announces an essay contest for any Virginia high school senior who will attend any four-year college or university in the Commonwealth of Virginia beginning in the fall of 2018. The Society will award a $3,000 scholarship to the author of each of the four essays that are judged to be the most outstanding.  Essay Topic: Each year the essay is about a historical document that played an important role in the establishment of our nation. This year's topic will be the Westmoreland Resolutions.  Application available below and in the Counseling office.

Electronic Security Associates of VA (ESA) Youth Scholarship - Deadline: March 23, 2018

Jermon Bushrod's Visualize & Rize Foundation Scholarship - Deadline: March 23, 2018
Jermon Bushrod's Visualize & Rize Foundation is offering a $500 scholarship to ten (10) King George High School senior athletes who are furthering their education after graduation. To qualify for these scholarships the applicants must: 1) Presently be a senior (in good standing) and participated in an athletic program at King George High School. 2) Have been accepted at a trade school, vocational training or college after graduation from KGHS. 3) Turn in a completed scholarship application, along with a copy of your college acceptance letter to Mrs. Morrison in the Counseling office.  Application available at the link below or in the Counseling office.

Dahlgren Officers' Spouses' Club's Rosemarie Blades Honorary Scholarship - Deadline: March 26, 2018
Graduating high school seniors who are dependents of military personnel currently or previously assigned to Dahlgren as a permanent duty station. Application available below and in the Counseling office. 

The Greater Rappahannock (VA) Chapter of the Links, Inc. Scholarship - Deadline: March 28, 2018
The Greater Rappahannock (VA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated is pleased to announce its 2017-2018 Scholarships.  The scholarships will be awarded to six outstanding African-American students, two females and two males in our service area in the amount of $1,200, which is non-renewable.  The Sandra Holland King Education Scholarship in the amount of $1,200 will be given to a student majoring in the field of Education and a student attending a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) will be awarded a scholarship in the amount of $1,200.  Application available in the Counseling office and the link below.

King George County Historical Society's James F. Mullen Scholarship - Deadline: March 29, 2018
The King George Historical Society is offering this $1,000 scholarship in memory of James F. Mullin, to a high school senior who is a resident of King George County, Virginia, and plans to further their education by attending a post-secondary institution, college, university, technical or trade school or training program upon graduation. Application available below and in the Counseling office. 

^^Hispanic Scholarship Fund - Deadline: March 30, 2018
The HSF Scholarship is designed to assist students of Hispanic heritage obtain a college degree. Scholarships are available, on a competitive basis, to high school seniors, undergraduate students (all years), community college students transferring to four year universities and graduate students. Eligibility: Must be of Hispanic Heritage, Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale for High School students; minimum 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale for college & graduate students; plan to enroll full-time in an accredited, not-for-profit, 4-yr university or graduate school, during the Fall of a scholarship cycle (year). US Citizen, Permanent Legal Resident, DACA or Eligible Non-Citizen (as defined by FAFSA). NSWC Federal Credit Union Scholarship - Deadline: March 30, 2018
Graduating high school seniors who are a member of NSWC Federal Credit Union may apply.  One scholarship will be awarded for $3,000. Three additional scholarships will be awarded for $1,000 each. The applicant must include a 300-500 word essay on "How I hope to help others by furthering my education." Application available below and in the Counseling office.

Virginia Cable Telecommunications Association Virginia's Future Leaders Scholarship - Deadline: March 30, 2018
This program is a one-time award and is open to Virginia residents attending an undergraduate 2 or 4 year program at a Virginia institution of higher learning. Essay required, 500 words or more, "why you will be one of Virginia's Future Leaders.'  Apply online https://www.vcta.com/virginias-future-leaders-scholarship  Copies also available in the Counseling office or the link below.

AHEPA - Educational Foundation (AEF) Scholarship - Deadline: March 31, 2018
American Hellenic Educational Progressive Assoc. Scholarship program was established to promote, encourage, induce and advance education at the college, university and graduate school level. Scholarship awards may range up to $2,000 and are payable to the student. Eligibility: Student must be an active member of the AHEPA Family. Applicant is of Hellenic descent. American Postal Workers Union Scholarship - Deadline: March 31, 2018
Applicants must be a child, grandchild, stepchild or legally adopted child, of a current, retired, or deceased APWU member. Applicants must be a senior attending high school or other secondary school. Application and more information are below, in the Counseling office and website http://www.apwu.org/issues/scholarships

Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund - Deadline: March 31, 2018
High school seniors who will be attending a U.S. accredited four-year college or university within the fifty states and District of Columbia may apply. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S., have a GPA of 3.0 +, have demonstrated leadership abilities through participating in community service or other extra curricular activities. And have a combined adjusted income of the parent(s) not to exceed $50,000.  Application available below and copies available in the Counseling office.

Legacy of Life Essay & Video Scholarship - Deadline: March 31, 2018
All essay and video entrants must be a current high school senior who both resides AND attends high school, or is home schooled in one of the locations listed, of which King George County is included. Applicants must write a persuasive essay and/or produce a video that educates, then motivates, an audience to become registered organ, eye and tissue donors! Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs Scholarship - Deadline: March 31, 2018
The Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, Intl, has awarded scholarships to students majoring in programs that lead to careers in manufacturing. (List of approved fields of studies are available in application packet). Aviation Scholarship - Deadline: March 31, 2018
The Virginia Aviation Business Association (VABA) Scholarship, in the amount of $2,000, is awarded to a Virginia resident high school, technical school senior or college/university undergraduate who is pursuing an aviation related career in an accredited institution.  Minimum GPA 3.0 +. Two letters of recommendation and  a 250-500 word essay on "Why I Wish to Pursue a Career in Aviation" or "Why Aviation is Important to the Commonwealth of Virginia." Application available below or in the Counseling office.

Rich Murray Journalism Scholarship (Va Sports Information Directors) - Deadline: March 31, 2018
The Rich Murray Journalism Scholarship is presented annually to a graduating Virginia high school student who excels in the area of sports journalism and must be pursuing a college degree in journalism, communication, video, media or a related field with intentions of pursuing a career in sports.  Please fill in the application form as complete as possible and be sure to include the requested attachments.  Please type directly in this document or print and scan.  Email all requested documents to VaSID representative Daniel Whitehead (whiteheaddk@vmi.edu)  Information and application are also available at http://vasidsports.com/sports/2012/6/22/General_0622123808.aspx  and in the Counseling office.

^^2019 State Farm Companies Foundation Scholarship - Deadline: March 31, 2018
